Koh Samui Nightlife

When the sun goes down, the relaxing beach atmosphere of Koh Samui turns to a pulsating nightlife full of bars and restaurants.

As soon as the sun sets on Koh Samui, the beachfront resort areas dazzle with glittering lights. In fact, the chain of clubs, pubs, bars and resorts ensures that Koh Samui is as vibrant and exciting after dark as it is during the day.

Koh Samui Nightlife, Chaweng Girls, Clubs & Bars, Thailand

Koh Samui’s best nightlife is found at Chaweng Beach and visitors will find this area at its busiest after dark.

Koh Samui is all about music, dancing and fun. If you visit Chaweng, you will find several live music venues and dance bars. Dance to the tunes of the traditional Thai music or enjoy karaoke with your group at one of the local bars. It’s up to you whether you want to dance, drink or relax. There is something for everyone!

Families may find the Chaweng nightlife a little overwhelming if you have children in tow. Therefore, family travellers may want to explore Lamai beach as it boasts a more family-friendly nightlife. Even though you will find a few discos, go-go clubs and cabarets here, this area is a lot less hectic than Chaweng.

  • Hi Michael. You’ve put together a great post here. Samui is such a fantastic destination. There’s so much to see and explore. Plus the nightlife, beaches, and local cuisine are so varied.
    Best wishes, Alex

  • I have been to the Jazz Festival in 2011 and am considering relocating to Samui, but I would like to know if there are any regular venues on Samui for good quality live jazz, blues, etc.

    • Hi Brian,

I have searched many many sites and really the only place that was solely a jazz venue (which every body raved about), closed down a long time ago.

The only place i could find that mentions jazz music is the Piano Bar at the Baan Sijan Resort. Apparently it is located at 106/5 Moo 5 Angthong, Koh Samui (Google maps is’nt the best at working with Thai address names)

All the best on the possible move over. I know if I was quit my day job any time soon, Koh Samui would be one of the place i would love to live.

      Thanks
