Haad Yao Beach

Haad Yao Beach is for many, the definition of paradise on Koh Phangan. Soft white sand beaches, clear azure seas, and coconut trees on the shore; but that’s not all there is to this gem of a beach.

As soon as you visit, you’ll see why this beach has all the ingredients necessary for the idyllic beach holiday.

Haad Yao Beach, Accommodation, Bungalows & Resorts, Koh Phangan

This 1-kilometre-long pristine beach possesses a natural beauty that has been kept intact. Warm and clear seas invite you to take a refreshing dip, and towering coconut trees gently sway with the tropical breeze. The soft sand makes it perfect for playing beach games such as Frisbee and volleyball. Behind the beach is a more developed area where you can find numerous modern conveniences.

Across the bay is a spot perfect for snorkelling and diving. Just 400 meters away from the coast, it is one of the most vibrant and diverse marine areas in Koh Phangan. If you would like to learn diving, the beach has many dive schools to choose from. Don’t miss out on the best snorkelling or diving to be found in Koh Ma and Haad Salad.

When it comes to hotels, there is everything here from elegant five-star resorts, native Thai bungalows, and everything in between. You can have an affordable stay if you’d like, but there are hotels that will also invite you to splurge. There is accommodation for everyone; including backpackers and families.

Haad Yao Beach is home to many excellent restaurants, cafes, and bars. You’ll find them along the beach, as well as towards the back area near the main road. Whether you’d like to stay up late at night or prefer to have cocktails at sunset, there is a bar here for you. However, the nightlife scene here isn’t as intense as other beaches in Koh Phangan; it still provides plenty of relaxation opportunities and tranquillity.

Overall, this beach is a favourite because of its bohemian vibe and a laid-back ambience.
