Lad Koh View Point

The Lad Koh View Point is one of the best places in Koh Samui to enjoy spectacular sea views. It’s located between Lamai and Chaweng Beach, off highway 4169.

Since it is situated on the ring road of the island, it’s a popular stop for several day tours especially for tourists heading to nearby attractions such as the waterfalls or the famous Mummified Monk.

If you visit on a clear day, you’ll be treated to impressive vistas of the glittering sea, the shoreline, and nearby islands. You’ll also have a clear view of Chaweng beach and its neighbouring areas. The best time to visit the viewpoint is during the early hours of the morning, which is when there is fewer people. The viewing area has undergone several changes and developments in the past few years, due to its increasing popularity as a tourist attraction. Many of the new improvements that have been added include toilets and onsite parking, plus it’s also now much cleaner than ever before.

Stalls selling cold refreshments and snacks are found nearby, which is perfect especially for those travelling on a hot day. The most popular of these stalls is a family-run ice cream shop, highly recommended for their delicious and unique flavours.

Although there are other viewpoints nearby, this is more easily accessible since it’s only a 15-minute motorbike drive from Chaweng Beach. If you don’t have your own transportation, you can take a taxi but since it may cost a lot of you are alone, you may want to consider sharing it with other travellers.

There is a small temple near Lad Koh View Point, which was put up as a memorial in honour of people who lost their lives on the ring road.
