Sairee Beach

Sairee beach is Koh Tao’s headquarters of fun, beach, and nightlife. It’s located on the longest beach of the island and stretches as far as 1.85 km to the west coast.

Because of its prime location, this is where the centre of all the attractions are.

Sairee Beach, Hotels, Bungalows, Accommodation & Snorkelling, Koh Tao

The beach features a coral reef a short 30 meters away from the shore, making it perfect for snorkelling with kids and the whole family. There are usually sports being played on the beach, including football, Frisbee, and volleyball. If you’re in need of some rest and relaxation, you can place a towel right on the beach to soak up some sun or take a nap.

Part of what makes this area so pretty is the presence of the iconic longtail boats that Thailand’s islands are known for. There are spectacular sunsets to behold, although the beach can get pretty busy in the afternoons. Establishments lay out mats, low tables, and cushions during the later part of the day, inviting visitors to unwind and make new friends.

The beachfront area is dotted with several bars and restaurants, as well as trees to provide you with shade. Enjoy your meals with a view and the sand in your feet.

Just behind the beach is a vibrant city centre; there are clinics, pharmacies, boutiques, tour operators, convenience shops, ATM’s, and virtually everything you need for a comfortable and enjoyable stay.

There are also plenty of accommodation choices in all price ranges; from hostels, bungalows, boutique hotels to five-star resorts, this developed area of the island will have something for everyone.

So whether you want in on the action or require some tranquillity, you can enjoy your trip to Sairee beach however way you want. It is also considered as one of the country’s safer beaches, which makes it ideal for solo travellers or those with kids in tow.
