The Holy Ascension Church, also known as the Russian Orthodox Church, is located in 127/245 Moo 3 Maret, Koh Samui.
The idea to establish the church was conceptualised by the Representative of the Russian Orthodox Church archimandrite Oleg, who visited Koh Samui in March of 1999 for a ministerial visit.

The church was consecrated on June 13, 2013, to coincide with the Ascension of the Lord day. It finally opened to churchgoers, and representative of archimandrite Oleg served the Divine Liturgy, who is also the representative of the Russian Orthodox Church in Thailand. This institution accepts several services, including weddings and epiphanies.
When visiting the Orthodox Church, travellers may want to use this opportunity to see and experience nearby attractions. The area has several Thai cooking schools where you can participate in a few hours or a full day worth of lessons, learning how to create authentic local cuisine. Other activities to do during the day is to explore the viewpoints in the area, get massages, and do some shopping.
