Thong Nai Pan Yai Beach makes up part of a stunning Koh Phangan Cove, with Thong Nai Pan Noi making up the other.
This beach is the quietest of the two, offering more space, seclusion, and tranquillity to travellers. It is also home to the island’s main village.

The beachfront restaurants serve authentic Thai delicacies and freshly caught seafood. All the food and drink here is relatively inexpensive, and you can find almost everything from vegan food to traditional western fares like pizzas and burgers.
The lush emerald rainforests surrounding Thong Nai Pan Yai Beach are known for its diverse flora and fauna. If you trek, you may be lucky enough to find some giant water lizards, small wild cats, and other tropical creatures.
While here, you may also want to visit the Wang Thong Waterfall, which is tucked away in a nearby forest. The best time to visit the falls is during the rainy months of June to October.
Just a few years ago, getting here was considered difficult. Today, there is a paved road, and boat transfers are also available. Motorbike and bicycle rentals are a great way of getting in and around, as well as exploring what the island has to offer. But here, the beach is, without doubt, the main attraction.
Grab a sun lounger right on the beach and read a book, or get a massage. Shaded trees and hammocks are also available.
