Wat Phu Khao Noi, Buddhist Temple & Meditation Centre, Koh Phangan
The temple was founded during the Rattanakosin Period, and it was registered as a historical site by the Fine Arts Department on September 1997. What makes this temple stand out among others in Koh Phangan is that it is bordered by eight stunning pagodas, each of them designed with unique architecture and style, that was built within 12 corners. The main tower, or pagoda, stands out as a beautiful silhouette against the sky, especially in the late afternoons.
As soon as you enter Wat Phu Khao Noi, you can’t help but notice and appreciate the serene spirit of this Buddhist sanctuary. Walk around to explore and take photos of the exquisite details that await you in every corner. Watch out for the ornaments and dacor that you won’t see in other temples. Another noteworthy feature of the temple is the old chapel, which is one of the smallest in all of Thailand.
Come and meditate here, or observe when a Buddhist ceremony takes place. When you visit, you are contributing to a good cause since the temple operations also support children who want to become a monk and study Buddhism.
