The Big Buddha Pier in Koh Samui services travellers heading on ferry trips to Haad Rin Pier.
The boats that depart the pier are traditional Thai wooden boats, which may be slower than speed boat services but are popular among travellers heading to the Full Moon parties on Haad Rin Beach.

The primary ferry operator is the Haad Rin Queen, with large wooden-hulled boats with seating offered downstairs as well as in the upper deck. The boats are equipped with a toilet and stalls selling refreshments. If you are prone to seasickness, it may not be advisable to book the Haad Rin Queen during the rainy season because they tend to be shaky during rough seas.
The ferry service is rather affordable and ideal for those on a budget. Alternatively, the Big Buddha Pier also services the Thong Nai Pan Express, which is available on days of good weather.
The pier is located just off the main ring road in Koh Samui. Facilities at the Big Buddha Pier include a covered waiting area, small stalls selling refreshments, and a toilet. Tickets are sold on a first-come, first-served basis from a desk on the left side of the pier. Several restaurants and shops can also be found on the main road by the pier entrance. This is also where you will find motorbike rental stands.
If you have some time to kill while waiting for your boat to depart from Big Buddha Pier, it’s worth checking out the beach by the pier. It has white sand and a great swimming beach. Resorts and restaurants are also conveniently located by the pier.
