Chaloklum Pier is located in the main fishing village in north Koh Phangan.
The area is known for its laid-back charm, so it’s no surprise that many ex-pats have chosen to live in this area over other busy parts of the island.
Chaloklum Pier, Ferry Schedule, Boat Ticket Prices & Map, Koh Phangan
Depending on where you want to go, the cost of hiring a long tail boat is around 200 Baht per person, although it may be negotiated if you have a large group of people. There are regular departures from the morning until the early afternoon.
Whether you intend to do a tour or not, dropping by the marina is worthwhile even if it’s just to come and see the colourful Thai fishing boats. The quiet area is very picturesque, and makes for many beautiful photographs. Even better, come to buy seafood from the fishermen straight off the boat. The squid here is among the best, and it’s available at low prices from the fishermen instead of buying it at the market.
Chaloklum Pier is also a good starting point for discovering this side of Koh Phangan, which is still secluded and is less developed. If you are looking to get away from the touristy areas, come to Chaloklum. There are several wonderful restaurants, yoga centres, dive shops, bars, art markets, and shopping.
Accommodation choices are also great, and it’s more affordable here.
