Flights to Koh Samui were only introduced a few decades back – before that, visitors used to land in Bangkok and then take a long bus and ferry ride to Koh Samui. Although there only a few companies who offer flights to get to and from this island, there are various flights during the day.
Koh Samui has only a few airlines that offer daily services – these include Bangkok Airways, Thai Airways and Firefly Airlines. Each of these offers daily flights from different destinations; such as Bangkok, Singapore and Kuala Lumpur.
