How To Get To Koh Samui From Bangkok, Surat Thani, KL & Singapore
You may also book flights from Bangkok directly into Surat Thani, and from here take a short ferry to Koh Samui. The second option is cheaper than flying to Koh Samui directly, although the bus and ferry from Surat Thani will add roughly three hours to your journey
If you have some time to spare and are on a budget, it is recommended to take a train from Bangkok directly to Surat Thani. The train journey is approximately 12 hours, and the prices are low whether you book a fan or a deluxe First Class cabin on the train. However, the First Class cabin is highly recommended because it’s much more comfortable. It is always best to take the evening departure times from Bangkok; this way, you can sleep comfortably on the train, and once you wake up, you’ll already be in Surat Thani ready to board the ferry to the islands.
The cheapest way overland is to take a bus from Bangkok to Surat Thani, followed by a boat to Koh Samui.
